OSR Summer Referral Rewards Program
Our summer referral rewards program is back and better than ever! Do you know someone who is in pain or is experiencing limitations in their daily activities? We want to help people alleviate their pain and get back to doing the activities they love. Please pass along our information so that your friends and family can learn more about how OSR Physical Therapy can help them. In doing so, we will thank you by giving you the option of receiving a Harkins Theatres or Starbucks gift card**. This promotion will be going on throughout July and August, so get out and get talking! There is no limit to the amount of OSR "rewards" you can receive, and there is nothing more rewarding than helping someone you know.
**you or the person you refer must mention this program at the time of their first appointment to be eligible for reward.
OSR Gilbert celebrates its 1-Year Anniversary
Our Gilbert clinic recently celebrated its 1 year anniversary. OSR Gilbert represents the third OSR expansion site and the second OSR clinic located within a Mountainside Fitness Center. On Saturday June 12th we celebrated this event with the Mountainside staff/gym members. We held contests and gave away prizes, including a metabolic test to one lucky gym member! OSR Physical Therapy is extremely grateful to all of the wonderful patients and physicians who have made this clinic a success! Happy 1st Anniversary Gilbert, and Cheers to many more to come!
OSR says goodbye to a couple of great guys! Cory Rohren (PT Tech/Anthem) and Ray Popp (PT/Peoria) have moved on to pursue other endeavors. We will all miss you and wish you both the best! Thanks for all of your hard work!

This month our spotlight is on physical therapist, Rachelle Shaver, PT, MPT. Serving as our primary aquatic therapist, Rachelle heads up OSR's Aquatic Program in our Anthem and Peoria locations. She spends time both in the clinic and in the pool, taking excellent care of our patients and proving the effectiveness of aquatic therapy.
Originally from Houston, TX, Rachelle graduated from Houston Baptist University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science double major in Biology and Kinesiology. During her time there, Rachelle also played 4 years of college softball for the Lady Husky Softball Team. In 1997, she graduated from The University of Texas Medical Branch with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Care Science and a Masters of Physical Therapy degree. Rachelle has worked in outpatient orthopedics/sports medicine for 11 years; prior to joining OSR in Aug 2009, she worked in Kansas for 2-1/2 years, focusing on aquatic therapy for post surgical knees, hips, shoulders and backs. Rachelle and her husband, Bryan, live in Anthem with their 3 lovely children. In her spare time, she enjoys weight training, snow skiing, sports, traveling and church. We are very pleased to have Rachelle as an integral part of the OSR staff. If you are interested in finding out how aquatic therapy may be beneficial to you, please feel free to contact Rachelle at 623.551.9706.
OSR Patient Success
This month we would like to share a patient success story with you. Christine, a Dr. Sears' Certified L.E.A.N. (Lifestyle Exercise Attitude Nutrition) Coach from Anthem, AZ, decided to take on the challenge of training for a full marathon. It had been 11 years since she last ran one, but she was motivated by a worthy cause - the sudden passing of a close friend of her family. She and her family decided to join together and run the San Diego Rock'n Roll marathon in honor of their friend. Team Mitch-Live in the Moment had 17 team members and training together was a healing process for everyone. A week before the race, a constant pain in Christine's knee was threatening her participation (and success) in the race. Taking advantage of OSR's Free 15-Minute Consultation, she made an appointment at our Anthem clinic. Once evaluated by Aaron Williams, PT, DPT, she felt much better knowing that there was hope for her knee and for the race - all was not lost. We were able to check her insurance benefits on the spot and Christine was elated when she found out that her insurance plan did not require a referral. We were able to start treatment on Christine that same day, with excellent results. Here is a little of what Christine had to say about her OSR experience: "I only had 2 PT sessions (for Tendonitis in my knee) prior to leaving for my marathon in San Diego. Both Aaron & Kurt were friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. With the PT sessions & the knee strap I wore during the marathon, I was able to get to mile 16 before I had any real pain slow me down. I finished in 5:27 and felt great (tired but great) at the end. Thank you OSR for helping me through my 2nd marathon as part of Team Mitch, that accomplishment meant the world to me!"
"I am 100% certain that without seeing OSR prior to the marathon (even with only 2 treatments), my 26.2 mile experience would have been completely different. I would have been in extreme pain at mile 3 instead of the slight pain I felt around mile 16 and I wouldn't have enjoyed myself as much as I did."
Our primary goal at OSR Physical Therapy is to ensure that our patients get the best results as efficiently as possible, each and every day. Congratulations Christine on your finish and thank you for giving us the opportunity to be a part of your success.
